TCG @ alor 030305

well, when CH asked me to organise a TCG, it was cracking my head as i am always the kind of person who stick to certain places when i think the food is generally 'ok' for myself, basically value for money and not more than 10km from where i stay. if u ask me to bring u to my favourite restaurant in KL, i would have bring u guys to the chap fan stall which i tapau everyday.

first place came across my mind was jalan alor, as i think that TCG original focus was on those street/roadside food of local favour... btw it's easier to switch if u guys are not satisfied with what i recommended, there are more than hundred kinds of variety along the street.

venue: fish head stall attached to restaurant named 'fu xi', it was a mistake for the owner to translate it from mandarin, i translated it as 'fook hei' and mislead someone... right opposite wisma city towe_ (r is missing) at middle of ALOR KAI~

time: 1930

attendance on the day by time arrived:
1. me (i'll never be the first to arrive for any outing, this time i hav no choice as i was marked as the 'organiser')
2. yvonne (glad that u r puntual to accompany me, i know those bastards won't be on time)
3. huiling (smart as u can read the 'fu xi'...)
4. suanne
5&6. CH & kenny (not too bad, within half and hour's tolerance)
7. alvin
8. harrie (bastard, u r the nearest among all!)

list of food ordered:
1. 2 big bowls of not-too-spicy fish heads + prawns + sotongs (i think next time we don't order any prawns or crabs for any TCG outing.. TCG is basically formed by a group of lazy fellas or we should get mrs. tan CH or sharm to do the peeling job)
2. ikan terbakar (lucky we have CH to sapu the left over)
3. kam heong lala
4. kam heong tek kan (hokkienese call it tek kan, what u guys call it actually?)
5. fried sotong (it seems to be the must-order dish for TCG outing... sengkee, happy garden, robson height... almost everywhere we'll order this...)
6. cheng chow choi dan (upon the ladies' request for vege)
7. the green batang stuff...
8. sorry no pork for harrie...

my personal IT consultant will help me post up the photos taken soon. or u guys can view it in our TCG yahoo photo album.

well, not a big TCG outing but hope u guys did enjoyed the food @ alor! if u guys ask me to organise another TCG, i'll bring u guys for the best CHAP FAN in town.

not-too-spicy curry fish head + prawns + sotong

TCG must-order fried sotong (left over in the photo as they grabbed it too fast...)

dunno how u guys call this actually... hokkienese call this 'tek kan'

a bit over terbakar i think... so so only...

kam heong lala, nice ah?

the faces make me think my TCG recommendation was a failure...

suann's fast-hand on the lala...
